Laurent Ruquier expresses interest in Star Academy directorship

Laurent Ruquier has expressed interest in succeeding Michael Goldman as the director of the television program Star Academy. Following Goldman's departure after four seasons, TF1 is searching for a replacement before the upcoming season begins.

While Ruquier stated, “Yes, that would please me!”, he clarified that he cannot take the position for the immediate upcoming season. His current theatrical commitments, specifically his role in the play ‘Chante et tais-toi’, make it impossible to manage the weekly live television broadcasts required by the show. However, he indicated that he remains open to the possibility of directing the program in future years.
