Laurent Wauquiez expense reports: Greens take legal action
Green party elected officials from the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes Region have filed a case with the Lyon Administrative Court to compel the disclosure of expense reports for Laurent Wauquiez. Wauquiez, a Member of Parliament and former president of the region, currently serves as a ‘special advisor’ to the regional administration.
The opposition group claims they have sought these documents since March, but the region has failed to provide them. Although the Commission d’accès aux documents administratifs (Cada) notified the region on August 7 of its obligation to communicate the requested documents, the information has still not been released.
Opposition members have criticized the lack of transparency regarding the use of public funds. They further allege that Wauquiez’s role as a special advisor allows him to act as the ‘de facto president’ of the region, potentially bypassing rules regarding the accumulation of mandates.
