Brazilian candidates prioritize regional infrastructure in Tocantins and Acre

In Brazil, political candidates are centering their campaigns on regional infrastructure and economic support.

In Tocantins, gubernatorial candidate Laurez Moreira (PSD) has proposed several initiatives to boost the central-north region. These include paving 141 kilometers of unpaved roads, specifically segments of the TO-164 and TO-239, to facilitate agricultural transport. Additionally, Moreira proposed the ‘IPVA Zero no Campo’ program, which would exempt motorcycles used by rural workers from vehicle tax, and advocated for the emancipation of the Luzimangues district.

In Acre, Senate candidate Jorge Viana has made the recovery of the BR-364 and BR-317 highways his primary commitment. Viana stated he is coordinating with the Federal Government, the Ministry of Transport, and DNIT to secure resources and permanent maintenance for these strategic routes to address current transit issues.
