Lauriacum Roman Legionary Camp in Enns Featured at Danube Limes Heritage Lecture

A lecture on the Roman legionary camp of Lauriacum in Enns was held on 23 April 2026 in the Council Chamber of Museum Lauriacum. Speakers included Eva Thysel (Forum Donaulimes), Dr. Mario Wallner (GeoSphere Austria) and Dr. Stefan Traxler (Upper Austria State Museum), who presented recent geophysical radar measurements from 2025 alongside earlier 2015 surveys.

The presentation highlighted the camp’s significance as a central logistics and production hub within the Danube Limes World Heritage corridor. The event was co‑organized by Forum Donaulimes, Museum Lauriacum and the Society for Archaeology in Upper Austria, and it announced further talks, excursions and exhibitions related to the heritage site.
