LAUS winery launches reforestation campaign for Aragon wildfire recovery

LAUS winery has launched a solidarity campaign titled ‘LAUS por nuestros bosques’ to support the ecological restoration of areas in Aragon damaged by recent devastating wildfires. The initiative is being carried out in collaboration with the International Foundation for Ecosystem Restoration (FIRE).

Under the campaign, the winery will donate 1 euro for every bottle of LAUS Crianza sold. This funding is structured so that every six bottles sold will finance the planting of one tree. The proceeds will be directed to FIRE to assist in the long-term recovery of the Pre-Pyrenees ecosystem.

The campaign follows a major wildfire incident in Las Peñas de Riglos that destroyed between 14,500 and 16,521 hectares of land. The fire impacted several municipalities, threatened historic Romanesque heritage sites such as the San Juan de la Peña monastery, and necessitated the evacuation of 19 towns. The disaster also resulted in the accidental death of UME corporal Javier García Sancho.
