Lausanne Grand Slam judo tournament debuts with adaptive athlete inclusion

The Lausanne Grand Slam judo tournament opened at the Vaudoise Arena in Switzerland, featuring the first-ever inclusion of adaptive judo athletes competing on the same mats as elite judokas.

Key competition results included Marina Vorobeva winning the -48kg category and Yamato Fukuda of Japan securing his first Grand Slam gold in the -weight class via an ura-nage counter. Gefen Primo earned her fourth Grand Slam gold in the -52kg division. In the -66kg category, Kairi Kentoku defeated Shinsei Hattori in an all-Japanese final. Additionally, Georgian world champion Eteri Liparteliani won the -57kg gold medal following a victory over France's Sarah Leonie Cysique.

International Judo Federation President Marius Vizer and IOC Honorary President Thomas Bach were present for various ceremonies and masterclasses during the event.
