Lausanne-Sport dismisses coach Luka Elsner
Swiss Super League club Lausanne-Sport has parted ways with head coach Luka Elsner following a period of poor performance. The club, which is owned by the British chemical company Ineos, announced the decision by mutual agreement on Tuesday.
The dismissal follows a difficult season in which the team has occupied the bottom of the 12-team league table. A significant catalyst for the decision was a recent match against Thun, where Lausanne-Sport held a 4-1 lead until the 70th minute, only to ultimately lose the game 5-4.
Elsner, a Slovenian coach, had been in the position for approximately five months after joining the club in June. The club stated that current sporting dynamics and results were the determining factors in the decision to end the partnership. The club has not yet announced a successor.
