Laut Bercerita film releases teaser and music video

Pal8 Pictures has released a teaser poster and a music video for ‘Matilah Kau Mati’, the theme song for the film ‘Laut Bercerita’. Performed by Efek Rumah Kaca and Knogg, the music video was directed by Khozy Rizal.

The visual elements of the music video utilize the film’s dining room set, which was originally constructed in Semarang. This setting serves as a symbol of the pain experienced by the families of activists kidnapped during the 1998 era, representing the empty space left by those who never returned home.

In the video, the character Asmara Jati explores the uncertainty of her brother Biru Laut’s disappearance. Director Khozy Rizal noted that the work was inspired by the original novel and explores themes of life after death through the perspective of Biru Laut.
