Lauterbach and JetBrains integrate TRACE32 debugging into CLion IDE

Lauterbach and JetBrains have announced the integration of TRACE32 debugging tools into CLion, JetBrains’ cross-platform IDE for C and C++. This integration allows embedded developers to debug applications directly on target hardware from within the CLion environment, merging code editing, navigation, and hardware debugging into a single workflow.

The connection is established via the Debug Adapter Protocol (DAP) and the TRACE32 Debug Adapter. Developers can either start a new TRACE32 PowerView session from CLion—configuring target connection and initialization via scripts—or connect to an existing TRACE32 instance.

Technical requirements for this integration include CLion version 2026.1 or newer, TRACE32 PowerView Release 09.2026 (or Build 195402), and TRACE32 Debug Adapter version 0.1.2 or higher.
