Lauwersmeer maritime rescue involves medical emergency

Emergency services responded to a maritime incident at Lauwersmeer involving two people who fell into the water near the entrance to Zoutkamp. The individuals were wearing life jackets and were rescued by occupants of a nearby sailboat.

During the rescue operation, a medical emergency occurred involving a person on the assisting sailboat. The KNRM Springbok rescue boat, Zoutkamp fire department, and ambulance services coordinated to provide aid. One individual was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. The KNRM and fire department also worked to recover a sunken boat from the water.
