LAV-C announces 2026/2027 season to mark 15 years

The Laboratorio de Artes Vivas y Ciudadanía de Canarias (LAV-C) has unveiled its 2026/2027 season, marking 15 years of operation. The upcoming programming emphasizes diverse scenic languages through queer, transfeminist, and decolonial perspectives.

A central pillar of the new season is the expansion of artistic residency programs at regional, national, and international levels. These residencies are designed to facilitate research, creation, and exchange between artists of various backgrounds, connecting the Canary Islands with other creative contexts.

The season also introduces new mediation and research initiatives focused on the relationship between art, citizenship, and social transformation. This includes a specific study on care and artistic practice, supported by the Ministry of Culture and the Instituto Canario de Desarrollo Cultural (ICDC), aimed at gathering data on the conditions of creative work. Additionally, a new exchange program with Sala Inestable in Valencia will allow Canarian artists to showcase their work in mainland Spain.
