Lavagna torrent floods in Calvari, forcing bridge closures

Heavy rainfall has caused the Lavagna torrent to flood in several locations in Calvari, within the municipality of San Colombano Certenoli. As a result of the flooding, the bridge connecting Calvari to Vallefredda and Pian dei Cunei has been closed to traffic.

The Regional Agency for Environmental Protection of Liguria (ARPAL) raised the weather alert from yellow to orange for the east-central region of Liguria. Local authorities have advised residents in high-risk hydraulic zones to move to upper floors of their homes to prevent danger from rising waters.

In addition to the Lavagna torrent, the Cabanne stream in Rezzoaglio has also seen rising water levels, reaching an intermediate flood stage. Local authorities and hydraulic technicians are monitoring the situation for further developments.
