Lavalleja CCIL launches Modo Minas discount card for retirees

The Centro Comercial e Industrial de Lavalleja (CCIL) has launched the ‘Modo Minas’ card, a discount program designed to reduce the cost of living for retirees and pensioners in the Lavalleja department of Uruguay.

Developed in collaboration with the Asociación de Jubilados y Pensionistas de Lavalleja (AJUPEL) and the Asociación de Jubilados Municipales de Lavalleja (AJUMULA), the card will offer discounts ranging from 10% to 20% at participating local businesses. While the program is being promoted through AJUPEL and AJUMULA, officials clarified that the benefits are available to all retirees and pensioners in the region, regardless of whether they are members of these specific associations.

The card is scheduled to become operational on December 1, 2026. A list of participating merchants will be released prior to that date. The initiative aims to support the local economy by connecting residents with departmental commerce through a simplified application process available at AJUPEL or AJUMULA offices.
