Laverne Cox, Emmy‑nominated actor and transgender activist, told the media that the rollback of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI) policies under President Donald Trump’s administration has cost her roughly 90 % of her income over the past two years. She said, “I’ve lost so much money because of this administration,” noting that speaking engagements, acting contracts and teaching opportunities were cancelled or avoided as corporations feared “gender ideology.” Cox warned that her personal losses reflect broader material consequences for trans people, including threats to jobs, health care and legal protections. She discussed the issue while promoting her new memoir, “Transcendent.”
