Lavezzola begins Piazza Tiziano urban green redevelopment

Redevelopment work is set to begin in Lavezzola on August 26 to revitalize Piazza Tiziano as part of the Urban Transformative Agenda for Sustainable Development (Atuss). The project, promoted by the Union of the Bassa Romagna Municipalities, focuses on enhancing green urban architecture.

The intervention aims to reduce impermeable surfaces by replacing asphalt with eco-friendly draining materials. The permeable surface of the square is expected to increase from 1.65% to 38%. While 23 existing trees will be removed due to inadequate planting conditions, they will be replaced by 24 new trees, along with various shrubs and expanded green spaces.

The total investment for the Piazza Tiziano project is 650,000 euros. This is part of a larger 2,040,000 euro initiative that includes the redevelopment of Piazza della Resistenza in Alfonsine and Piazza Armandi in Fusignano. The Atuss projects are funded 80% by the Emilia-Romagna Region through 2021-2027 European Funds and 20% by the European Union.
