Lavington court handles drink‑driving and garage assault cases

On June 17, 2024, Taylor Jane Sievers, 33, pleaded guilty in Albury Local Court to a high‑range drink‑driving offence after crashing her Honda Accord into a gutter on North Street, Lavington. She had consumed four stubbies of Carlton Dry at a local tavern, failed a breath test and has a prior drink‑driving conviction. Judge Melissa Humphreys ordered a full sentencing‑assessment report.

In a separate matter, 49‑year‑old Mark Garry Fair of Douglas Road pleaded guilty to common assault after pushing his son and placing him in a headlock during an argument in their garage. The incident occurred in January 2026 and the court set a sentencing date for 15 September 2026, also ordering a community‑corrections assessment. Both cases were heard by Judge Humphreys in Albury Local Court.
