Lavras Novas and Lamim host sport‑culture festivals in Minas Gerais

The district of Lavras Novas in Minas Gerais will hold the first edition of Almas Novas on 29 August. The one‑day event combines outdoor sports – trail running, mountain biking, guided hikes and yoga – with a concert by the veteran Brazilian rock band Capital Inicial. Activities begin at 7 a.m. with competitions, followed by the open‑air show in the village’s football field from 5 p.m., featuring the band’s classic hits.

In the nearby town of Lamim, the weekend of 1‑2 August will feature the Trilhas & Tradições festival. The program includes a walking and running circuit on Saturday, a traditional off‑road motorbike rally on Sunday, and musical performances by singer Giroto and the band Fator R4. Both events aim to promote tourism, local commerce and the natural attractions of the region while encouraging active lifestyles and cultural participation.
