Lavrov accuses Europe and Zelensky of undermining Trump‑Putin Alaska peace proposals

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said that Europe and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are attempting to derail the peace proposals that U.S. President Donald Trump presented to Russian President Vladimir Putin at their August 2025 summit in Alaska. Lavrov claimed Moscow accepted the American suggestions and that European allies and Zelensky are trying to pull the United States away from them.

He added that no written agreement was signed at the meeting, and the war in Ukraine continues. Lavrov also referenced ongoing security risks in the Middle East, calling for all parties to halt hostilities and return to diplomatic talks.
