Law enforcement agencies conduct training and recruitment

Law enforcement agencies in Argentina and the United States are conducting specialized training and recruitment programs to enhance public safety.

In Argentina's oil region, 38 police officers are undergoing a two-day training course on the use of Byrna less-lethal devices. These systems use CO2 to fire kinetic or chemical projectiles, such as pepper spray, with an effective range of 18 to 20 meters. Additionally, 19 high-ranking officers are receiving training on low-lethality devices to strengthen departmental knowledge.

In Suffolk County, New York, the Sheriff's Office held a swearing-in ceremony for 72 new correctional officers at the Yaphank Correctional Center. The group, consisting of 62 men and 10 women, will begin a 16-week training program covering de-escalation techniques, defensive tactics, and firearms handling. Eight of the recruits possess prior military or law enforcement experience.
