Law enforcement disrupts major drug trafficking operations in Taiwan and Hong Kong
Authorities in Taiwan and Hong Kong have reported significant successes in recent anti-drug operations involving the seizure of high-value assets and narcotics.
In Taiwan, the Kaohsiung Branch of the Ministry of Justice Administrative Enforcement Agency successfully auctioned the “Deshi” yacht for 3.21 million TWD. The vessel was previously seized for its involvement in smuggling over 1,500 kg of ketamine, with an estimated market value of 4.5 billion TWD. The auction, completed in approximately three months, aimed to prevent asset depreciation and reduce storage costs.
In Hong Kong, police dismantled a drug storage warehouse located in a Yuen Long village house. During the operation, officers arrested a Pakistani couple and seized a variety of narcotics, including cocaine, ketamine, and methamphetamine, with a total estimated market value exceeding 22 million HKD. The suspects allegedly used their young children living in the residence to provide a cover for their illegal activities.
