US Law Enforcement Seizes Meth in Indiana and Fentanyl in Louisiana After Traffic Stops

Lawrence County, Indiana sheriff’s deputies stopped a vehicle on State Road 450 west of Bedford, where a K‑9 alerted officers to drugs. The search uncovered more than one pound of methamphetamine, hypodermic syringes and other paraphernalia. Driver Crystal Travis, 47, of Bedford and passenger Thomas Mitchell, 60, of California were arrested on charges including dealing and possession of methamphetamine over 28 grams.

In Lafayette, Louisiana, a traffic stop on University Avenue led narcotics agents to seize 7.7 pounds of fentanyl and $55,000 in cash, arresting Jonathan Torres, 31, and Anthony Caro, 37, on distribution and money‑laundering charges. A subsequent search warrant at a second address uncovered an additional 7.7 pounds of fentanyl and $5,000, resulting in the arrests of Joseph Robicheaux, 31, and Leon Boute, 42, on similar offenses. Investigations remain ongoing in both states.
