Lawo introduces Edge One convergent video and audio platform

Lawo has introduced Edge One, a convergent stagebox designed to integrate video and audio functions into a single compact platform. Making its European debut at IBC 2026, the system is intended to serve as an interface between production site signals and IP-based infrastructures.

The platform supports native SMPTE ST 2110 with network bandwidths up to 25 Gbit/s. It combines bidirectional SDI interfaces, HDMI, MADI, USB-C audio, GPIO, and synchronization interfaces. To ensure flexibility, the device features user-replaceable audio I/O modules and can be configured as an audio-only, video-only, or combined audio and video system through the Lawo Flex model.

Edge One is designed for various environments, including studios, venues, remote productions, flypacks, and commentary positions. Beyond connectivity, the platform can function as a standalone solution for tasks such as audio embedding, de-embedding, shuffling, and signal transport. Additional capabilities, including JPEG-XS encoding/decoding, frame synchronization, and mc²-level DSP processing, are available via optional software licenses.
