Lawrence Bishnoi moved to high-security block at Sabarmati Central Jail
Gangster Lawrence Bishnoi has reportedly been transferred to the ‘Do Sau Kholi’ block at Sabarmati Central Jail in Ahmedabad. This specialized high-security enclosure is designed to house approximately 200 inmates involved in serious criminal and terrorism-related cases.
The new facility is divided into four separate sections, each accommodating about 50 prisoners, to restrict movement and limit contact between inmates. Bishnoi’s cell reportedly measures approximately 7.5 by 11 feet. This move follows his previous confinement in the ‘Dus Kholi’ enclosure, a smaller high-security section for 10 inmates.
The transfer aims to enhance security and prevent Bishnoi from communicating with associates or managing criminal networks from prison. While investigators previously noted instances of extortion calls and threatening messages during his detention, they have reportedly recorded no direct communications originating from him over the past two years. Bishnoi has been held at Sabarmati Central Jail since his arrest in May 2023.
