Lawrence Lamont to direct Last Friday sequel

Lawrence Lamont has been tapped to direct ‘Last Friday’, the fourth installment in Ice Cube’s comedy franchise. Lamont, known for his feature debut ‘One of Them Days’ and music video work for artists like Big Sean and Snoop Dogg, will take the helm for the project.

Ice Cube, who co-created the franchise, is set to write, produce, and star in the film. The production is scheduled to film in Southern California over a 40-day period, employing approximately 43 cast members and 150 crew members. The project has received approximately $11.4 million in California production tax credits.

This marks the first live-action entry in the series since 2002’s ‘Friday After Next’. Previous installments include the original ‘Friday’ (1995), ‘Next Friday’ (2000), and ‘Friday After Next’ (2002).
