Emmerdale actor Lawrence Robb is set to compete in the upcoming season of Strictly Come Dancing. The 34-year-old Scottish actor, who has played Mackenzie Boyd on the ITV soap since 2020, has been paired with professional dancer Jowita Przystał.

Robb revealed that while he has some basic dance experience from studying at The Dance School of Scotland and performing in musical theatre productions like Legally Blonde, he lacks significant expertise in ballroom and Latin styles. He noted that his character in Emmerdale will be written out temporarily to accommodate his participation in the show, with a storyline involving the character moving to Germany.

This season of the BBC One competition features a new hosting lineup including Josh Widdecombe, Emma Willis, and Johannes Radebe.
