Lawrence Vigouroux consolidates role with Chile and Swansea City
Lawrence Vigouroux has established himself as a key goalkeeper for the Chilean national team and Swansea City, marking a significant rise in his career compared to his previous tenure at Everton de Viña del Mar.
Former Everton coach Javier Torrente explained that Vigouroux was highly regarded during his time in Chile but struggled to secure a starting position because the veteran Campestrini held the starting role. Torrente noted that Vigouroux's cycle at the club was interrupted by the social unrest in Chile, after which the goalkeeper returned to England.
Vigouroux has recently delivered standout performances for the national team, including high-level play in matches against Canada, the United States, and a clean sheet against Mexico. While Vigouroux continues to compete in higher tiers of English football, fellow Chilean goalkeeper Vicente Reyes has signed with Woking FC in the fifth division.
