Lawyer Andreas Theodoropoulos arrested for alleged domestic violence

Greek lawyer Andreas Theodoropoulos was arrested following allegations of domestic violence against his minor son. The investigation was triggered by a TikTok live broadcast where his microphone reportedly remained open, capturing verbal abuse and sounds of physical assault directed at the child.

The incident led to an anonymous report via the ‘10201’ helpline for child protection. Police subsequently formed a case involving charges of domestic physical harm and domestic insult to genetic dignity. Authorities located Theodoropoulos at his residence in Voula, where he initially did not respond to calls at the door before being taken into custody at approximately 06:30.

Following his arrest and communication with the prosecutor, Theodoropoulos was released under a verbal order. He has denied all allegations, claiming the video is a ‘set-up’ and an organized attack by ‘haters’ intended to defame him. Due to his professional status, the case is expected to be heard by a Three-Member Court of Appeals.
