Lawyer arrested in Cojedes for alleged document forgery

A 51-year-old lawyer has been arrested in Cojedes, Venezuela, for the alleged forgery and falsification of public documents. The arrest occurred in flagrante delicto after the individual attempted to submit altered case files to a criminal court to influence legal proceedings under his management.

Judicial circuit inspection mechanisms and the Strategic Intelligence Division (DIE) of the Bolivarian National Police (PNB) carried out the operation. Authorities reported that the lawyer, who has over 16 years of professional experience, allegedly tampered with original procedural dates and a judge's handwritten signature.

The suspect has been placed at the disposal of the Public Ministry of the Cojedes judicial district, which will pursue charges of forgery and falsification of public documents.
