Lawyer Codazzi granted house arrest in child abduction case
A court in Esquina, Argentina, has ruled that lawyer José Alejandro Fernández Codazzi will serve house arrest while facing charges of aggravated concealment and involvement in the abduction of a minor. The decision follows an investigation into an incident where Codazzi allegedly used his vehicle to assist in the forced relocation of a child.
Both the Public Prosecutor's Office and the defense have appealed the ruling. The matter is now set to be reviewed by a tribunal in Mercedes. Codazzi remains under investigation as the judicial process moves toward a trial.
Additionally, Josías Santos Regis remains in preventive detention at the Corrientes Penal Unit 6. Regis was arrested in May following a violent incident in a rural area involving the forceful relocation of his son and the shooting of several individuals.
