Former Banco Master head Daniel Vorcaro is under a Federal Police investigation for an alleged multibillion‑real‑estate and financial fraud scheme, suspected corruption of public officials and the use of a private militia. Ex‑minister of Communications Fábio Faria met Vorcaro in October 2023 at an Esfera Brasil event in Paris and subsequently acted as the main intermediary, arranging meetings with top officials such as Senator Davi Alcolumbre, Senate President Rodrigo Pacheco and STF minister Dias Toffoli. Messages obtained by investigators show Faria coordinating a party sponsored by Vorcaro that included dozens of women, luxury flights to London and New York, a US$640 000 whisky tasting and a R$67.5 million wind‑energy project sold to Vorcaro in February 2024.

In August 2026 criminal lawyer Daniel Leon Bialski joined Sergio Leonardo’s team to represent Vorcaro. Bialski said the defence is still analysing the investigation and may seek a new plea‑bargain. The case is being handled in the Supreme Federal Court, with Minister André Mendonça as rapporteur, while Vorcaro remains in preventive detention at the Papudinha prison in Brasília. Two prior plea‑deal proposals have been rejected by the Federal Police.
