Prosecutor Luiz Alberto Segalla Bevilacqua found dead in Limeira

Luiz Alberto Segalla Bevilacqua, a 56-year-old prosecutor in Limeira, São Paulo, was found dead in his home on Monday, August 31. According to the Civil Police, he sustained a gunshot wound to the head. The incident occurred within a residential condominium, and emergency services confirmed his death at the scene.

Bevilacqua was a prominent member of the Public Ministry, serving as a prosecutor in Limeira and participating in the Special Action Group to Combat Organized Crime (Gaeco). His career included investigations into political issues, administrative misconduct, and environmental crimes. He was also an academic, holding a master's degree in Constitutional Law and teaching at various higher education institutions.

The Civil Police have launched an investigation to determine the circumstances and motivation behind the death. The City of Limeira has declared three days of official mourning following the news.
