Lawyer Gabriel da Silva Alves found dead in Bahia

The body of lawyer Gabriel da Silva Alves was discovered in a vegetated area in Xique-Xique, western Bahia, following a week-long disappearance. According to the Civil Police, initial examinations showed no apparent signs of physical aggression, such as bruising, fractures, or wounds from firearms or blades. However, the exact cause of death remains undetermined, and additional tests have been requested from the Technical Police Department.

Gabriel was last seen on August 22 after leaving a social gathering. His motorcycle, glasses, and sandals were previously located in a rural area. During his disappearance, a friend reported receiving a call from him that was difficult to understand due to heavy interference.

Two individuals were arrested on Monday for suspected involvement in the case. The Civil Police have not disclosed their identities or specific roles to avoid compromising ongoing investigations. The Brazilian Bar Association (OAB) in Bahia is monitoring the case.
