The Očistec criminal case in Slovakia alleges that a group of senior police officials and businessmen formed an organized criminal network that abused police authority for personal gain. Among the eleven accused are former police president Tibor Gašpar, businessman Norbert Bödör, former special prosecutor Dušan Kováčik, and former head of the National Financial Unit Bernard Slobodník, who testified about alleged bribes.

Gašpar has repeatedly denied the charges, stating he never attended meetings on the sixth floor of the state‑run Transpetrol building and that any gatherings with Bödör took place only at the Radošina pub. Slobodník claimed he received a €50 000 payment linked to the Váhostav case, part of which he said was handed to former investigator Roman Stahl and an expert associated with Marián Kočner. Prosecutors maintain that Gašpar and Bödör directed the group’s illicit activities.

The Specialized Criminal Court in Banská Bystrica has adjourned proceedings and scheduled further testimonies, including Gašpar’s, for 28 July. The trial continues to examine accusations of corruption, abuse of public office, and organized crime within the police hierarchy.
