Veselin Radulović requests security risk assessment from Montenegro's ANB

Lawyer Veselin Radulović has issued an open letter to Ivica Janović, Director of the National Security Agency (ANB) in Montenegro, requesting a security risk assessment. Radulović claims he has faced months of threats and public attacks, including being labeled a ‘mafia lawyer’ and a protector of corruption, following his efforts to report abuses by officials from the Democratic Montenegro party.

Montenegrin PEN Center expressed concern regarding the reaction of Defense Minister Dragan Krapović to Radulović’s criminal complaints against the Ministry of Defense. The center stated that Krapović’s decision to file a counter-complaint for false reporting and his public labeling of Radulović as a ‘mercenary’ of a former regime violates UN principles regarding the protection of lawyers from intimidation.

In response, Minister Krapović denied any wrongdoing or pressure on judicial institutions. He stated that he has filed complaints against Radulović and called for institutions to determine who is telling the truth, asserting that there are no privileged or untouchable political lawyers.
