Willer Tomaz sues Blaze platform for R$ 163 million in gambling losses

Lawyer Willer Tomaz has filed a lawsuit in São Paulo against the online gambling platform Blaze, seeking the return of R$ 163 million in losses. Tomaz, who reached level 171 in the platform's loyalty program, claims he developed a gambling addiction and alleges that Blaze failed to implement adequate responsible gaming measures to curb his compulsion.

Court documents reveal that Tomaz engaged in massive transaction volumes on the platform during 2025, totaling approximately R$ 10 billion between gains and losses. While he recorded R$ 4.8 billion in winnings, his losses reached approximately R$ 4.963 billion. The defense argues that the platform bypassed regulations to profit from his addiction and notes that some transactions were conducted in ways that avoided federal facial recognition requirements.

Separately, a Federal Police report has identified Tomaz as a financial and logistical hub for individuals under investigation in an INSS fraud scheme.
