Lawyer denies Febrie Adriansyah received Rp40 billion from Tan Kian

Lawyer Febri Diansyah has denied allegations that his client, former Junior Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah, received Rp40 billion from businessman Tan Kian. The clarification follows a pre-trial hearing at the South Jakarta District Court on August 27, 2026.

According to the defense, the court transcript does not contain a conclusion from the judge stating that Adriansyah received the funds. Instead, the lawyer clarified that the evidence presented—a statement from Tan Kian—only mentions the transfer of an amount equivalent to Rp40 billion to an individual named Ferry.

The defense emphasized that the legal documents do not link the payment to Adriansyah and argued that the judge is not in a position to conclude whether Adriansyah received the money based on a one-sided statement. Adriansyah was previously named a suspect by the Indonesian National Police in a money laundering investigation.
