Lazar Jovanović removed from Serbia U21 national team
Lazar Jovanović, an offensive player for Udinese, has been removed from the Serbia U21 national team by head coach Zoran Bata Mirković. The decision was made due to disciplinary issues ahead of upcoming friendly matches against Iraq and Russia.
This is not the first time the 19-year-old has faced disciplinary action within the national team setup. He was previously removed from the Serbian cadet national team by former coach Aleksandar Luković for similar reasons, which resulted in him missing the European Championship. Jovanović, the son of former Serbian international Milan Jovanović, has a history of disciplinary incidents at both Red Star Belgrade and within youth selections.
