Lazar Radović, legendary footballer, passes away at 89

Legendary footballer Lazar Radović has passed away in Belgrade at the age of 89. Born in Podgorica, Radović began his career with Budućnost between 1953 and 1957, where his performances earned him recognition as one of Montenegro’s top athletes in 1955 and 1956.

Radović went on to achieve significant success with Partizan Belgrade, winning four Yugoslav championships (1961, 1962, 1963, and 1965). His international career included stints in Greece with Trikala and in the Netherlands with Xerxes and PSV Eindhoven. He represented the Yugoslavia national team in seven appearances.

Following his playing career, he held various administrative roles, including serving on the International Commission and as president of the Professional Committee of the Football Association of Yugoslavia. The Football Association of Serbia has expressed its condolences to his family and friends. Funeral services are scheduled to take place in Belgrade and Podgorica.
