Lazare’s Sacrifice announced as narrative deck-builder

Dream Reality Interactive and publisher Curve Games have announced ‘Lazare’s Sacrifice’, a narrative-driven deck-building game set during the French Revolution. Scheduled for a Spring 2027 release on PC via Steam, the title features collaboration with Damien Monnier, the creator of the original Gwent.

Players take on the role of Lazare Hoche, a historical general imprisoned in the Carmes Prison. The gameplay combines strategic card battles with exploration, where players must navigate the prison and interact with various historical figures from the era. The core mechanic revolves around the concept of sacrifice; to summon powerful forces, players must surrender their own resources, such as cards, board slots, or health.

In this high-stakes environment, losing card duels can result in the protagonist facing the guillotine. The game aims to blend psychological duels with a story of betrayal and survival during the Reign of Terror.
