Lazio pushes for Dinamo Zagreb defender Sergio Dominguez

Italian club Lazio has identified 19‑year‑old Spanish defender Sergio Domínguez as a priority target to strengthen its back line. Coach Gennaro Gattuso personally contacted Dinamo Zagreb president Zvonimir Boban, according to Italian media, to accelerate talks that had stalled. Lazio initially offered a €3.5 million loan with an option to buy for €8.5 million, but Dinamo rejected the deal, insisting on a mandatory purchase clause that would activate only if the Italian side qualifies for European competition. Negotiations continue as Lazio considers revising the offer while Dinamo holds out for greater security.

Domínguez, born in 2005, is seen by Lazio as a replacement for departing defenders and has attracted interest from other clubs. Gattuso’s direct involvement underscores the club’s strong desire to secure the young talent.
