Lazio appoints Gattuso as coach while Giovanni Malagò elected FIGC president

Former Italy and Chelsea midfielder Gennaro Gattuso has been confirmed as the new head coach of Serie A club Lazio, taking over the managerial role officially.

In a separate development, Giovanni Malagò was elected president of the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) with 68% of the votes. During his presentation he said, “Non c’è niente di peggio di chi nega il proprio vissuto…”, and some Lazio supporters voiced concern that his Roman allegiance could lead to favoritism toward Roma.
