AS Roma draws 0-0 against Como amid Malen red card controversy

AS Roma secured a 0-0 draw against Como in a Serie A match marked by controversy following a red card for Donyell Malen. The Dutch attacker was sent off in the 54th minute for a tackle on Kaiki, an incident that sparked significant debate.

Roma coach Gian Piero Gasperini criticized the refereeing, arguing that the decision was based on isolated frames that “falsify reality” and failed to account for a prior foul on Malen. Despite playing with ten men for much of the second half, Roma maintained defensive stability, with goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini performing well after starting in place of the injured Mile Svilar.

Following the match, Malen issued an apology to his teammates and fans via Instagram. While the draw leaves Roma two points behind leaders Inter and Lazio, Gasperini praised the team's spirit and tactical discipline under numerical disadvantage.
