Lazio establishes new observatories on labor rights and disability inclusion

The Cisl trade union and the University of Cassino and Southern Lazio signed a framework agreement to create the Observatory on Labor and Social Rights. Directed by Professor Luigi Di Santo and based at the university, the observatory will operate from the Castello Angioino in Gaeta and the Castello Baronale in Minturno, monitoring employment trends, collective bargaining, gender parity and welfare policies in the Lazio region. The Cisl Lazio secretary‑general Enrico Coppotelli said, "Con l’approvazione dell’Osservatorio sul Lavoro e i Diritti Sociali prende forma un progetto importante".

Separately, Sapienza University of Rome and the regional guarantor for people with disabilities signed a protocol establishing a joint Observatory for students with disabilities and DSA. The agreement, signed by rector Antonella Polimeni and guarantor Anna Teresa Formisano, aims to monitor difficulties faced by students, improve university services and support graduates’ transition to work. Polimeni declared, "Con la sottoscrizione di questo accordo Sapienza compie un ulteriore passo verso una visione ampia e integrata dell’inclusione e delle pari opportunità".

Both initiatives seek to strengthen research, monitoring and policy advice on rights and inclusion within the Lazio region.
