Lazio eyes multiple defensive signings as summer market intensifies

Lazio’s transfer strategy this summer focuses on reinforcing a weakened back line. The club is in advanced talks to bring in 21‑year‑old centre‑back Sergi Dominguez from Dinamo Zagreb, with an expected fee of around €10 million. At the same time, Lazio is reopening negotiations for Brighton’s defender Diego Coppola, reportedly on a loan with an option to buy.

In addition to the defensive overhaul, Lazio is considering a swap involving Icelandic midfielder Albert Gudmundsson with Fiorentina, while also preparing for the possible departure of goalkeeper Ivan Provedel to Inter Milan for an estimated €3 million, pending a medical. The club’s restructuring also includes the exits of centre‑back Romagnoli and defender Gila, prompting a broader recruitment drive across defence, midfield and attack.

These moves aim to address the squad’s shortcomings identified by coach Gennaro Gattuso and adapt to reduced wage budgets while remaining competitive in Serie A.
