Lazio crisis deepens as fans protest and club faces market freeze under owner Claudio Lotito

Former sports director Paolo De Paola said Lazio supporters have mounted an "intelligent" protest against owner Claudio Lotito, describing the fans’ silence at matches as a powerful statement. Lotito recently sent a handwritten letter attempting to calm tensions, but De Paola believes the damage to fan trust is already done.

Ex‑player Giancarlo Oddi told Radiosei that several Lazio players are unwilling to stay and that the club must sell before buying, noting the difficulty of the market and the club’s financial constraints. Giulio Cardone added that the squad’s estimated value has fallen from around €300 million to €220 million, confirming that Lazio is the only Serie A team whose transfer activity will be blocked until July.

Cardone also mentioned that Lotito may acquire another club, referencing a possible takeover of Reggina, and that the president’s handling of the situation has left fans uneasy about the club’s future.
