Lazio health system faces criticism from opposition leaders

Regional councilor Orlando Angelo Tripodi (Forza Italia) accused the Democratic Party of leaving a "disaster" in Lazio’s health system, citing community hospitals that remain on paper, uncontrolled waiting lists and chronic staff shortages. He urged the PD to apologise to citizens for the legacy of ten years of mismanagement, while praising President Francesco Rocca’s administration for turning projects into concrete services.

Democratic Party local secretary Daniela Pace condemned the regional government’s handling of PNRR funds, highlighting empty community houses, a neglected San Giuseppe hospital in Marino and the gap between announced reforms and actual service delivery. She called for genuine investment, staff and technology to ensure the constitutional right to health, and urged President Rocca to accelerate real improvements.

Both opposition figures denounced what they described as façade inaugurations and political slogans, demanding that the regional health system become efficient, accessible and truly close to the territories.
