Lazio increases subsidized agricultural diesel by 50%

The Lazio Region has announced a 50% increase in the allocation of subsidized agricultural diesel for the year 2026. This measure, adopted by the Regional Directorate for Agriculture and Food Sovereignty, aims to support businesses struggling with extreme heat and drought.

The increase is a direct response to requests from Coldiretti Lazio, which reported rising fuel needs due to the necessity of more frequent irrigation. The subsidy covers various operations, including irrigation, plowing, hoeing, harrowing, milling, and activities related to livestock.

Agriculture Councilor Giancarlo Righini stated that the measure provides a rapid and concrete response to the climate-induced stress facing local productions. Businesses interested in the supplement must submit their requests by November 15.
