Lazio Industrial Consortium reform faces criticism from opposition

Marietta Tidei, leader of the Italia Viva group in the Lazio Regional Council, has called for improvements to the proposed reform of the Lazio Industrial Consortium. While agreeing with the goals of boosting production and recovering disused areas, Tidei argues the current text needs refinement to benefit businesses, territories, and workers.

Key criticisms include the need for stable governance with clear limits on future commissioner periods and a more efficient management structure. Tidei also highlighted a discrepancy in the technical report regarding the number of management board members and advocated for gender representation and greater worker involvement.

Furthermore, Tidei raised concerns regarding resource allocation, noting that while the Region contributes 12.5 million euros, only 400,000 euros are allocated to the revolving fund for acquiring disused sites. She emphasized that municipalities require a more active role in decision-making to avoid bearing economic and urban planning obligations without effective participation.
