Lazio left‑back Nuno Tavares faces uncertain future amid injuries

Portuguese left‑back Nuno Tavares, who joined Lazio in the summer of 2024 and recorded eight assists early on, has been hampered by a knee inflammation and recurring physical problems. Reports indicate a strained relationship with coach Gennaro Gattuso during preseason, and after a series of poor performances he lost his starting place, with the club preferring Luca Pellegrini.

Alfonso Pedraza has impressed in training and is expected to become the regular left‑back. Lazio also have other options such as Timo Becker and Pellegrini.
