Daniele De Rossi clashes with journalist after Genoa loss to Lazio

Following Genoa's 1-0 defeat to Lazio, Genoa manager Daniele De Rossi engaged in a heated verbal confrontation with journalist Augusto Sciscione during a post-match press conference. The dispute began when Sciscione questioned De Rossi regarding the team's sporting values, citing an incident where Genoa players failed to return the ball to Lazio after a medical stoppage. De Rossi responded personally, accusing the journalist of being obsessed with him and his former club, Roma, and labeling him a ‘poveraccio’ (poor man). Reports indicate the two later clarified the matter outside the press room.

In the same match, Lazio manager Gennaro Gattuso expressed satisfaction with his team's improved pressing and collective performance, despite the narrow victory. Gattuso also addressed the club's financial situation, noting a lack of funds for new signings and confirming the departure of Petar Ratkov.

On the transfer front, Genoa concluded its summer market with several moves, including the sale of Aaron Martin to Racing Santander and the arrival of defender Cody Drameh from Hull City for 4.5 million euros. Brooke Norton-Cuffy also moved to Hull City in a deal valued at 14 million euros.
